The purpose of the PeopleSoft DBA/Administrator role is to perform application and Oracle database maintenance with a primary focus on PeopleSoft HCM, TAM & ELM.
- Overall management of Oracle PeopleSoft applications & databases
- Perform server & database administration tasks:
- Server & database builds
- Refreshes to non-production databases
- Daily database health check monitoring, tuning & SQL reviews
- Database optimization
- Database Security Admin
- Database deployments to production
- Monitor & fix table locking/blocking
- Monitor alerts & fix issues
- Database upgrades, installs & updates from 19C
- Undertake performance test planning & execution
- Perform capacity planning & execution
- Apply patches as mandated by Oracle
- Perform PeopleSoft PUM upgrade
- Set up multi-tier Oracle applications environment
- Manage backup & recovery using RMAN
- Liaise with Functional, Business, and Technical Analysts
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 6 years’ experience as PeopleSoft DBA/Oracle Applications DBA, Peoplesoft Administrator or Oracle DBA
- High degree & proven knowledge & experience in PeopleSoft & Oracle database implementations & upgrades, Peoplesoft environment builds, Peoplesoft patching PUMs, RMAN backup & restore, planning & execution of patching & upgrades, database CPU patching, partitioned databases, Middleware (SES/ElasticSearch/Weblogic/Tuxedo)
- Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications & product certifications
- Fast learner with ability to gain expertise in complex database & server installations
- Knowledge of the system development life cycle & service management principle
