Key Responsibilities:

  • Support overall procurement and business strategy set by OSM maritime and OSERV Catering.
  • Perform vessel visit and accomplish compliance audits, operational surveys and investigation on budget overruns.
  • Perform onboard and overseas training of chief cooks on catering planning, production and provision management processes.
  • Conduct and facilitate orientations with crew before deployment or via ilearn platform in order to ensure expectation are aligned.
  • Guides the chief cooks/ stewards in provision stock up planning, requisitioning, costing and inventory in identified key ports.
  • Support and assist chief cooks in menu planning, meal variety and nutritional values considering the different nationalities and preferences of crew onboard.
  • Train vessel crew on the OSERV App for requisition and inventory system upkeep.
  • Assists recruitment department in technical competence assessment for key catering positions.
    • Assist in training activities for Catering education and competence enhancements programs and through virtual sessions.

Required Competencies:

  • At least 2-year experience as a Catering Superintendent or 5- year experience as a Chief Cook / Chief Steward.
  • At least a graduate of bachelors degree.
  • Graduate of maritime or hospitality education is of advantage
  • Good negotiation, communication, decision-making and analytical skills.
  • High catering technical competence and confidence
  • Can handle numerous tasks within limited timeframes in a structured manne
