EY Oceania’s Risk Management function is part of our Core Business Services (CBS) - the important business enablement functions that keep our organisation running strong.


Our Risk Management function has a vital role in protecting EY from risks that arise from its professional practice. Risk Management teams provide coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, regulatory and risk management issues, compliance responsibilities and support our client-facing teams as they deliver quality service to their clients.


This role predominantly focuses on implementing compliance related procedures and processes to ensure conflicts of interest are identified and managed through implementation of appropriate safeguards; ensure our independence and objectivity is not impaired; manage risks to Partners, employees and the firm and meet regulatory requirements.


Working as part of a small team working with and supporting the Oceania Conflicts Leader and Senior Conflicts team members, this role is full time, 12-month fixed term contract subject to review after the first six months.


Your key responsibilities

  • Processing of conflict checks and initial consultations involving:
o Reviewing research, assessing findings, challenging discrepancies and reporting any concerns to the Senior Conflicts team members.
o Liaising and interacting with members of engagement teams and relevant Client Service
Partners when necessary.

  • Compliance related activities.
  • Monitoring the team shared mailboxes, responding to queries and escalating where required.
  • Client relationship check requests.
  • Compilation and coordination of regular feedback to support teams.
  • Maintenance of internal Conflicts documentation.
  • Assisting and supporting other members within the Conflicts team as and when required.


This role will perform other responsibilities and tasks as required to achieve the agreed performance outcomes.

  • Intermediate MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer proficiency.
  • Prior compliance related experience, however not essential.
