Crewing Manager

Contribution and Aim

The main purpose of this position is to manage the team’s over-all performance.

Key Responsibilities and role(s)

• Ensure that documentary requirements of seafarer are in compliance with the regulations and principal requirements
• Update Crewing Operations of available crew with no planning before release and withdrawal of seafarer
• Inform recruitment of any position required
• Disseminate latest information from PIC to the team and to all the departments involved
• Approve and authorize signatory for relevant documents such as but not limited to POEA Contract and MLC Contracts.
• Monitor, request and coordinate all visa requests for processing, working permit, visa entry and exit clearance.
• Ensure competence Matrix is updated in compliance with the Regulations and principal requirements
• Handle escalated issues of assigned vessel / team member.
• Conduct debriefing for offsigners as required
• Address crew issues e.g. promotion, disciplinary cases, dismissal, resignation for seafarers and including office staff.
• Team Supervision for employee performance management, learning and development.
• Ensure day-to-day operations are covered in cases of employee absences.
• Ensure all IRIS issues/cases are properly addressed and closed on or before its due date.
• Review and approve all Team Outgoing invoices in Eye-Share.
• Conduct PDOS for seafarers as per schedule.
• Handles escalated issues.
• Leads a team of Senior/Crewing Officers and Crewing Assistants.
• Monitor performance of the team and update the General Manager.
Performs other tasks as delegated by Top Management

Required Competencies

• At least a graduate of any Bachelor’s Degree
• Extensive knowledge of policies and procedures related to the crewing industry.
• Good knowledge of foreign countries immigration, regulations, crew certifications, customs and marine department.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Solid supervisory skills Strong negotiation skills.
